Building Credit with Grameen America

One of the biggest obstacles faced by women entrepreneurs, especially low-income women entrepreneurs in the U.S., is the increasing credit gap between men and women. Despite carrying lower debt loads than men,  women still have lower credit scores.

Without a credit score, life is more difficult and expensive. For the millions that either lack a credit score or have flawed credit history, this means higher interest rates, fewer housing opportunities, and many more barriers.

Grameen America addresses this gap by regularly reporting members' credit history, ensuring their credit scores improve as they progress with the program. In fact, members without prior credit history can  achieve an average scores of 670 within six months of joining the program.
