Grameen America Receives $1.75M Award From CDFI Fund

This week, the U.S. Department of Treasury’s Community Development Financial Institutions Fund (CDFI Fund) awarded nearly 200 Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs) a total of $185.7 million in grants and loans. CDFIs represent mission-based lenders dedicated to serving individuals in economically disadvantaged communities and who traditionally face numerous barriers to qualifying for traditional loans.

Through the CDFI Fund, Grameen America was awarded $1.75 million to further expand our microloan program and enable low-income women entrepreneurs to start and grow their businesses. To date, Grameen America has served more than 75,000 women in underserved communities throughout the United States. This award will allow us to continue to expand upon that impact and revitalize communities.
