The Knight Foundation Awards $245,000 to Grameen America
As part of its ongoing efforts to fuel economic development in the city of San Jose, the Knight Foundation granted $245,000 in funding to Grameen America. The Knight Foundation aims to advance economic opportunities in San Jose through providing a path for entrepreneurship and innovation to San Jose residents at different income levels. Since 2008, the foundation has invested over $22 million in funding to the city of San Jose.
With the announcement of this investment, we look forward to advancing the impact of our microlending programs in the city of San Jose. Grameen America has currently served more than 86,000 women in underserved communities, and funding like this allows for us to expand our membership opportunities for low-income women entrepreneurs.
