Area Director, Central & Southeast

Mr. Shah Alam oversees Central & Southeast Area Grameen America branches. Mr. Shah Alam began his career with Grameen Bank in 1985 as Trainee Officer and progressed through numerous positions of increased responsibility. His last position at Grameen Bank was Senior Principal Officer from 2005 to January 2009. He joined Grameen America in January 2010 as Branch manager at Grameen America’s first branch in Jackson Height until November 2012. He founded Grameen America’s branch in Charlotte, NC Branch in December 2012, which is one of the organization’s fastest-growing branches. Mr. Shah Alam was promoted to Regional Director of Central & Southeast Region in 2015, leading the region till August 2017. Since 2017, Mr. Shah Alam oversaw Grameen America’s branch in Austin, TX. In 2021, Mr. Shah was promoted to lead the Central and Southeast region as Area Director.
